Firefox 2.0: SPELLCHECK!
Web Developer Tools: Tuesday, November 7th, 2006
I am writing this post using Firefox 2.0 and any time I misspell (I just misspelled ‘misspell’ with one ’s’ but caught it!) something I get those nice little red dots underlining the word until I correct it. That’s right, the new Firefox browser comes with a spell-checker enabled for “text areas” of any pages you are browsing. By right-clicking misspelled words you can replace them with the corrected version.
I know a lot of you comic creators are horrible spellers, or at least we think we are really swell at spelling until we get in a rush and then type crazy stuff. Misspelled words are always embarrassing, especially when half your job is writing. I had been eagerly awaiting the WordPress 2.1 release which is suppose to have a spell-check, but now I have to wait no longer. Maybe they will have a grammar check as well though.
