Oops! ComicPress Manager 1.0.1 fixes my stupid mistakes…
So yeah, if you’ve been trying to use ComicPress Manager since the stable release announcement, you’ve probably been wondering how that piece of $%@$#^ could be considered “stable.” There was one show-stopping bug in the release that I fixed…which introduced another show-stopping bug…which I just squashed today. So if you’ve been having problems with CPM ever since the 1.0 release, do yourself a favor and grab 1.0.1 right now. I promise it will work this time.
Also, I’m starting to gather together a list of upgrades for the next major milestone, 1.5. So far, the following items are up for improvement:
- Automatically chmod’ding uploaded files to the permissions of your choice
- Streamlined UI for “advanced” options
- The ability to batch rename files that have already been uploaded and have a different date prefix than the configured date prefix
Anything else that I should be considering? A reminder: CPM 2.0 is the version where I’ll be adding the ability to modify a basic ComicPress template…once that template is written, of course. ![]()

No matter what “comics” directory I’ve got and have config’d for, CPM keeps trying to point to the “wp-admin” folder. But my uploaded comics “can’t be found” there. Because they’re not actually there, but in the designated “comics” directory.

I’m just a bit confused by the various blanks to the side when uploading… The one with the time in it is obviously for what time to post it, but there’s 2 other blanks with no information as to what they’re for or what to put in those blanks.
Some text next to the boxes to denote what they’re for would be good.

@decayedelvis: Try the 1.0.2 test release. It fixes a number of issues with pathfinding on IIS and Apache Virtual Server hosts:

@Ryan Speck: Do you see any text on the left of the text fields at all? Are they completely missing? There is text that should be appearing there.

I should have perused more carefully… Looks like in IE7, the text is in the main box and the form blanks are off to the right side, like a sidebar. I mistakenly thought the sidebar blanks were missing text explaining what they were.
Testing it in a Mozilla browser, the blanks look correct.

@Ryan Speck: I have done no testing whatsoever in IE 7, as IEs4Linux barely supports it, and I don’t have VMware or anything on my development machine.
I’ll see what I can do about improved IE 7 support in the next minor release.

Also, the “replace this comic” bit doesn’t quite work. For the life of me, I can’t get it to replace a comic with a different comic without creating 6 more copies of the same comic.

@Ryan Speck: Another bug I fixed recently. Try the 1.0.4 preview posted on the forum and let me know if it works any better.

@Ryan Speck: Better yet, grab 1.1: http://is.gd/L6I
